Surfacing Again

Well, my last post was in September. Over 6 months ago. Yup, that's about right. Time to resurface. Wouldn't want to break the pattern I've established, after all.

Submerge and Surface. Like a great, big, slothy sea monster. That's me. Not sure why, but I just take these loooong breaks from blogging. Sometimes it's because things are going on that I don't want to talk about, so I retreat. And sometimes it's just that I'm at a computer all day long at work and I just don't feel like getting on one again when I get home. Yes, I know I can blog from my iphone, but that's really kind of a pain and have you ever tried commenting on people's blogs from an iphone? It's a hair-pullingly frustrating experience.

ANYhoo, I'm popping on for a bit and we'll see how long I go for in this stretch. I've noticed that I tend to start blogging in the Spring and then I stop in the Fall. Haven't figured that one out either. But enough about my bad habits.

Speaking of bad habits, the addiction that has grabbed hold of my life and shook it violently, has taken a bit of a back seat. My daughter, who had relapsed last time I wrote, had a stint in jail that had a positive effect on her. She's been clean for 9 months now. She's working, going to school, and active in her church.

When I say addiction is in the back seat, it's kind of like saying you can see a knife-wielding mugger in your rear-view mirror. It's decidedly there, but what I mean is that she's using the tools she's learned both in rehab and in her church, to learn how to live with it. And that's huge and I'm so grateful.

So as not to bore you with alot of blah blah blah, here's a quick pictorial with some highlights of what I've been doing the last 6 months:

Posting pictures to Instagram.

Playing Draw Something with my Hubby. (That's Oprah, by the way. Hubby is a pretty good draw-er)

Conserving precious resources:

Going to Spain:

Ok, I have to put another picture up of Spain. It was my first trip to Europe and very exciting. I got to go for my job. This is a street near our hotel:

Lastly, and sadly, my mother-in-law, Sara passed away while I was in Spain. This video montage is for her:

I'll write more about my dear mother-in-law in another post. Rest in peace, Sara.

I hope that, if anyone is still reading this blog, that you're well, or at least trying to be well. I'm trying to catch up on my blog reading and hope to see you all around.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for stopping by my little blog and welcome back to blog land! So glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Keep her surrounded by people who are on the right path and can offer support and encouragement.

Sorry to hear about your MIL. Wow on the trip to Spain. Post some more pics and share some stories!! Blog when you feel like it. I haven't been doing so great with my blog lately and have been thinking of a hiatus from it soon. We'll see. I say that every month and somehow still keep it gimping along. I'm pretty wordless as of late.
Nice hearing from you and I'll be back to check on you again!

You need to blog about me more - the protagonist/hero of this dime-store novel. But nothing bad or embarrassing... just the cool stuff. I've got buttloads of it - just ask me. Maybe I better proofread everything before you post. I'm sure there will be redactions.
